Yesterday was the monthly meeting of my virtual book club. Although we’ve been together for a number of years now and in those years I’ve often been the rebel, the one who refuses to finish the book, of late I’ve become a bit of a Girly Swot. I’ve been the one to finish both our last two books by the deadline. And as I said to my I-Love-Reading pals, if it wasn’t for my accountability to the group I definitely would not be doing that.
Because we pick “hard” books. What would be the point of picking something easy, something you would read anyway in your own time?
Obviously this isn’t the only way to read books, but it does appear to be the best way to read improving literature.
The only time I ever went to the gym was when I had a personal trainer for 18 months. Although obviously it is not the only way to get fit.
Close friends swear by Weight Watchers, Slimming World and Lighter Life for losing weight. Although obviously it’s not the only way to do that either. But it is one way that works for many many people the world over.
Accountability. That’s what we’re talking about here. A place where you have to turn up week after week and report in to people who care about your progress. Those people can lead you to water but they can’t make you drink, only you can do that for yourself. But you are a whole heap more likely to do it in the company of others who love you and want to see you do well.
Musketeers – all for one and one for all. You can’t do it by yourself. And coaching and mentoring gives you the edge you need to succeed in the attainment of your life and business goals.
On our own we don’t seem to be enough. I’m not sure why that is. But it is.
Now, we’ve all seen people achieve things on their own but how hard must that be? If you can make an unbreakable promise to yourself, then good on you. But most of us can’t. And that’s precisely why both my mastermind coaching groups work.
You can’t do it on your own. But in a group, together, we are greater than the sum of our parts. Anyone’s success is everyone’s success. And when you see what others can do, that’s inspiring.
Group coaching starts at just £50 per month which makes it affordable to all. Let’s talk!
