but-children-in-need-1

It’s coming up to that time of year again, Children in Need is on 18th November 2011 and as I am coming to the end of my gap year, I shall have plenty of time to donate this year. So, how about a Wealth Consultation for £97? I will offer up to 45 mins on Skype, and what with 10 of those = £970, I could round it up to £1,000. We might even make more! Let’s talk about your money, or lack thereof. Your debt. Your income and expenditure, Assets and Liabilities, financial goals, business plans, how you are managing in the [...]

Wanted: Micro Investors for Yvonne’s Champagne App

yvonne_halling_695_plarge

Do you love champagne? Yes, me too. That’s why I have decided today to take Yvonne up on her offer of investing $1,000 dollars in her new App. Yvonne has a luxury B & B in Champagne and her husband has a website all about the bubbly stuff; in fact the two of them are steeped in it. I have been to stay with them and partaken of Yvonne’s hospitality and Jiles’ expertise and it was a pleasant, restful and effervescent short break, an easy drive from my London home via Le Shuttle. Yvonne consulted me this morning about the [...]

Some Thoughts About Pensions and SIPPs

Until 2002, when I began my journey to financial freedom, I thought I would have to work until I dropped down dead. And if I had to rely solely on my pensions, then that’s still the situation I would find myself in, even after nearly a decade of improving my own financial intelligence.   Someone wrote to ask me about SIPPS earlier today when I had already planned to write on this topic. That’s life for you, isn’t it? Pensions. Is that the dullest and most unsexy word and concept on the planet? I thought it was until I was in [...]

16 Quotes About Money

I hosted a workshop about money in October 2007 and researched some lovely, lively quotes for the workbook to go with the event. I thought I would share them with you today for your delectation and delight. It was an event organised by women for women, so that’s why the the quotes are either by women or refer to women and money together. Which one is your favourite or least favourite, and why? The only way not to think about money is to have a great deal of it. Edith Wharton. Being rich is having money; being wealthy is having time. Margaret Bonnano. [...]

Shaken and Stirred by the Sunday Papers

When I was a teenager, I flirted briefly with the idea of becoming a journalist. Also with becoming a musician. I haven’t regretted my decision not to take up either. Before bankers and estate agents, journalists were pretty reviled. As a teen and well into my twenties, I used to think being well read in the newspaper department meant you were well informed, with a good grasp of what was going on in the world. The older, more cynical and increasingly world-weary me soon realised that wasn’t true. The first time I was actually in a story which was reported in the papers and [...]

Financial Good News and Bad. Which Do You Choose To Believe?

So, with the papers full of "bad" financial news and scaremongering, but real life full of apparent green shoots in the financial sector, what do you think is going on? Which news do you choose to believe?

Inside Job The Movie

My nephew and I went to the movies on Wednesday, Orange Wednesday. He’s about to go to University to study Business Accounting so we thought we would take ourselves along to see Inside Job at the refurbed and ridiculously comfy Brixton Ritzy.   Neither of us could remember being so comfy at the movies, in fact I think he nodded off for a few moments.   Not to detract from the movie, just a comment on the plush new seats. If you are remotely interested in the global economic meltdown still so obviously painful and ongoing and you want to understand more [...]

Creative Business Partners: Offered & Wanted

I am coming to the end of the first two months of my gap year and its all going swimmingly. I love the luxury of so much leisure time and total freedom; I am becoming addicted to Sudoku. I have been wrapping up projects, streamlining my life and business interests and completing with my 2010 clients.   I have discovered I enjoy the structure that brings to my life and that I like to have something to pin my day on, shaping my week.   And, of course, its no secret I love to help people. This morning I was writing a note to the five chums who [...]

My 5 Top Wealth & Abundance Resources

Even though I am supposed to be on my gap year, I am somewhat in limbo while I wait to tidy up one last 2010 project which is dragging on a bit.   So between sudokus, crosswords, movies and Kindle ebooks, I have been doing my favourite thing – helping people. This week, after a flurry of emails with someone I had never met before who had heard me on the Wealth Solutions webinar series with the Barefoot Doctor, I finally got to the place where I felt I wanted to share my five top wealth and abundance resources with her, [...]
