The Ideas Loop

I am indebted to my client, M, for this expression – the ideas loop. M has a part-time day job, and a significant other, a cat, a dog, and lots and lots of ideas. She has worked on some fascinating projects of her own creation, it was why I was drawn to her. She’s already embarked very seriously on the planning for her 2017 idea. And it’s a Big One. And, for November, she’s joined one of those thirty day challenges to put to bed one of her previous ideas. Finally. She confessed that as soon as she sat down […]

Ideas: 31 Days of Abundance, Day One

Today I am beginning a series of 31 consecutive blog posts on the topic of Abundance, my own personal abundance. I am having a few days off work this week so I lay in bed this morning with a notebook and pen and brainstormed a list of 31 things I enjoy in abundance in my life. I stopped at 31, though I don’t believe I would need to. I suspect if I’d kept on looking, they’d be there until infinity. Today I am abundant in ideas. As a Creator in the Wealth Dynamics profiling system, ideas are my stock-in-trade and […]

Scarcity

A lot of the 30DC questions I am being asked are about scarcity. I am worried that people will run off with my ideas Should I trademark my company name? Should I copyright my content? If I blog about what I am planning to create in my business, won’t people simply rip it off? There’s so much competition in this field already, is there room for me? The blogosphere is so full of content already, I don’t think I have anything new to contribute. Honestly, I could share a lot more. This sort of thing is a recurring theme. No […]

How To Come Up With Ideas When You Haven’t Got Any

“How do I come up with interesting ideas when I haven’t got any right now?” This question came up on the 30DC this week. Essentially the question is one which comes from someone who is so stuck, for whatever reason, their own creative well has run dry and they were half hoping, I think, that I would have some ideas for them. It’s not easy to get inside someone’s head when you’ve never met them and come up with an idea which might spark their interest and enthusiasm for their own creative or entrepreneurial project. I can do it on the […]

What Does A Business Coach Actually Do?

What does a Business Coach actually do? I can’t speak for the others, but here’s what I do. 1. Give you a damn good listening to so that you can work out what you most want to do and be in the world, especially in regard to your business and how that business will support the life you want to live and enjoy. Do that each and every time what you want changes, for whatever reason. 2. Share my thirty seven years’ experience of doing that for myself and how I’ve seen that work not only for me in my […]

A Gorgeous, Brilliant and Shiny New Idea For My Client

There’s nothing so gorgeous, brilliant and shiny for a Creator as a great new idea for my business, or for yours. And I have lots of great ideas on my own. But the best ones are those I co-create with my clients and they just come unbidden to either one of us during a call, as happened earlier today. We both found the new idea very gorgeous and spent just a few moments sighing at its beauty before using it as a stepping stone for more goodies falling effortlessly into place. I used to play the piano at school and […]

The 5 Best Things About Working for Myself

Taking up Marion’s theme, which also just happens to be the topic of an end-of-term challenge we have set the Better Bloggers, here are my Five Best Things About Working for Myself. This is a BlogTag and if you would like to play, just let me know and I’ll send you an invitation to participate early next week. We are giving the Better Bloggers a head start until Saturday. My self-employed career is now some thirty-five (35!) years young. And over that time my Five Best Things would definitely have changed and changed again, and again. This is the 2012 […]
