I’ve had time off, of course I have, in the last three years but I haven’t had a proper holiday.   What’s the difference?   Time off constitutes something I am coming to enjoy more and more, downtime in my own home.   Its peaceful, I get to enjoy Augusts in the UK and I get lots of self-care jobs done which feels lovely.   And holidays involve “abroad”!   When I first went into coaching, I took on an empowering belief from Thomas Leonard that no-one wanted to be coached during August or December so planned my working year thus. I posted on the Money Gym forum today about thrift.   Having spent a month with lots of American snowbirds during December, I noticed their thrifty habits, no doubt designed to eek out their scant pensions and make them go further in the slightly cheaper, definitely warmer Caribbean. I notice that they order dinner, eat half and take the other half home for another meal, tomorrow? Caribbean Christmas 26: Why I Love My Laptop

I couldnt be off work for a month without my trusty laptop.   Dan, my pal from The Engine Room, set me up with a new MacBook Pro (my first) before I left the UK although I do operate Windows on it I must confess.   And it has been indispensable throughout the holiday allowing business as normal, or relatively so.   And perhaps even more importantly, give that this is a holiday, it has exhanced the holiday experience.
