Small Business Serious or Fun?

Is running your own small business serious or fun? It’s a fine balance. You’d have to be away with the fairies to think you could get away without being serious about it, in intent at least, and in the amount of hard and focused work you may or may not choose to put into it. But if it isn’t fun, then it isn’t going to happen for you. My clients won’t do things they have to force themselves to do, at least not for very long they won’t. It’s unsustainable. So I have to find ways to help them find […]

Friends: 31 Days of Abundance, Day Three

Friends. I’m long in friends and I’ve an abundance of great ones, so many I might need to re-visit this particular category of abundance later in the month. My gratitudes every evening run to 24, because that’s how many lines there are on the page in my notebook (very scientific!), and more than half of those are usually the great people in my life. I have so many, they are not normally the same ones although there is, of course, some crossover from day to day. I spent today with a friend who I met when I first became a […]

Be Careful What You Wish For

Day #2 of the 30DC and a right old turn up for the books. Half way through the morning, The Big U taps me on the shoulder from behind and says “Catch yourself on, Judith. Look what you are doing.”   I won’t say my blood ran cold, but an involuntary OMG fell from my lips very definitely as I realised I’d only gone and manifested what I’d cosmic ordered just before Christmas. Let me explain. A while back, towards the end of last year, I had this thought which I shared with those close to me. What I want, […]

Small Business Big Magic Competition: The Lucky Winners

I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday perusing the entries for my Small Business Big Magic Competition in which I am giving away some lovely prizes of business mentoring. First prize is a year’s membership worth £600, second prize is six months worth £300 and there were eight third prizes of one month’s membership worth £50. Over four hundred people perused the page and the joining instructions but only twenty four submitted an entry by the 12 noon deadline. I felt inspired to do with two people something I never do (and was about to write a blog telling coaches NOT […]

Your Small Business, Your Money and You

One of the things I like to get into with my clients pretty quickly is how much money you need to make from your small business and how quickly. That way we can make a meaningful plan. So one of the first things I need to know is how much money do you need to make each month to pay your bills in the place in your life where you are right now. This is Goal One. This is quite distinct from how much money you would like to make in the future, that’s another goal for another day. First […]

I Know What To Do But I Don’t Know How To Do It

“I know what to do but I don’t know how to do it.” That’s what new clients say to me, often. What they mean when they say they know what to do is that they’ve been to the workshops and listened to the webinars. And what they mean when they say they don’t know how is that they haven’t yet got into action. For all sorts of reasons. The sorts of fears and blockages which arise are to do with risking failure again, or even success this time. What will people think, former colleagues, family and friends? What if you […]
