The Power of Words

I used to think my favourite thing in the whole wide world was the written word. Certainly it is right up there. I love to write, this is my fourth blog post written on the trot today, for instance. And they just rolled off my virtual pen. What I love about writing is being fully heard. People read what I write and they know what I’m thinking. In my family we don’t do that. We are talkers. Phones: I Don’t Want to Talk About It

I’m phone averse. I tell people I’m phone phobic as it’s more easily understood. Ish. The fact is I don’t want to talk about it. Not by phone. I own a mobile phone. If you could call it that. It is the source of some derision since it is the somewhat classic Motorola Razr in my signature pink and it doesn’t do anything clever. It pays for my parking. I Don’t Know What I Want To Talk About Today, Judith

Sometimes a client will turn up with no idea what she wants to talk about today. Oh good! Michael Neill taught me that often these conversations are the most powerful. It gives us room to explore. I did one of those yesterday and two today and they’ve been bliss, for both parties. Sometimes something deep and important is uncovered. Sometimes we just enjoy the spaciousness.
