Today Nicola and I got together to record our first show for 2019 and our focus of the week is about our own plans and intentions for the new year that is 2019. How do you do that? What’s your process? There’s a lot of talk at this time of year about the best way to do that and I am always on the lookout for new ways.
Nicola shares her three-point plan and I share the two resources I am using to plan my year. More about that here too: Planning My 2019 Intentions.
In other news, Nicola and I tell each other about our respective Christmas Days with family (all good) and other things we have enjoyed and explored during our three-week break. Nicola had a mammoth journey back from Stoupa to the UK and she’s still here, which she hadn’t planned to be. She tells me why. And I bring her up to date on my visitors and treats, easing back into work on 7th January and completing the 21-day tapping challenge.
Nicola’s fire has been fuelled by studying Andre Chaperon’s Lean Business for Creators which is about serving not selling. And I share with her a lovely testimonial the podcast received during the festive period.
“I just wanted to say thank you again for the difference you make in my life. I look forward to your ‘newsy newsletter’ every Friday.Own It Podcast is another highlight of my week. There’s often one gem or two from you or Nicola that I carry with me through the week, or think about for my business. You can’t easily measure the value it brings. Its ongoing presence is important. Just being there. It’s stimulating and feels REAL. The pre-Christmas one on friendship was so pertinent. Made me reflect on friends around the world that I’ve kept up with over the years.”
Our words of the week are Tapping (mine) and Family (hers).
In Project Updates I do have something to discuss for a change, the introduction of my Crazy Bespoke service which fits in between working with me for a minimum of a year in one of my business groups, or an hour in PWYW! How did I take so long to notice that gap? In CB I ask clients to give me their ideal brief for working together and then I quote them bespoke. It has been warmly received so far, which is gratifying. More details follow although you’ll already know all about it if you read my weekly newsletter.
Nicola launched her passion project while we were off air, WritingClubWorld.com, and I am convinced it is The One. I got a really strong sense of that when first she showed it to me. It’s a free peer review site for writers and she was thrilled when Bing picked it up within 24 hours of launch and members started joining from all over the world.
When it comes to Who or What’s Impressed us, for me it is my brother with his 12kg low carb success and also his loving peace-keeping on Christmas Day. For Nicola it is very definitely NOT her relatively new iPhone but it is both Luther on BBC and her daughter, Phoebe’s new year resolutions at work already.
