The theme of the week on my Facebook Page has been moving on because that was what I was obliged to do – ready or not – recently. And I wasn’t ready. But what choice did I have? None that I could see. So I looked for some wisdom I could share which would help me and others work out how to handle our worlds when things appear (briefly) to be happening to us rather than for us.
Even as I went to write this, a client was PMing me saying that was precisely what happened to her yesterday and I advised her to sit with her feelings for a while and process them (I like to think of this as honouring them), and then get up and get on. For (again) what choice do we have, really?
Tupac agrees though I do hope we are not moving on in the way that he did, not before our time anyhow.
“You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could’ve, would’ve happened… or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on.”
― Tupac Shakur
