Is It Silly or Unrealistic to Think You Can Create a Living Doing What You Love?

Is it silly or unrealistic to think you can create a living doing what you love? The first ebook I ever wrote was called Creating a Business to Love. But, of late, my clients are saying they don’t necessarily want to create a business, more that they want to create an income doing what they love. The times they are a-changing. And – frankly – I agree with them. I don’t want to create a business anymore either. I’m sure that’s no accident that I am attracting like minds. Today I have enjoyed an email correspondence with a client about […]

Business Lessons My Clients Teach Me: Love-Based Content

In the first of a new series, I am going to be sharing the lessons I learn from my Club 100 clients each week from their Monday morning check-ins. Here’s a stonking week’s learnings from February: All work and no play doesn’t work. Self-care rituals are paramount and we avoid them at our peril. Out of whack cannot be maintained for very long, nor should it. Love-based content shared in the right spirit on social media = subtle marketing, the antidote to the hard sell and an alternative for the free thinker. Let the sun shine on your idea seeds […]

Lessons From My Self-Employed Clients Today

I learn from my clients every day. Today these are the lessons from my self-employed clients. Actually, these are just the highlights, there were many more. The reasons we became self-employed include the opportunity to do whatever we want, whenever we want. Which means we can craft each and every day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks of the year, uniquely and precisely to be just as we want. So if you want to go to bed with a book with cake and/or biscuits, you can. You can’t get away with that 365 but you can do it whenever […]

Abundance is a Choice

The results of the research I’ve carried out in the company of some other travellers in the jungles of time and space this summer at AbundanceFest are in. As with so many other things in life, abundance is a choice. Even when you think you have no choice over something which may be going on in your life or work, you still have the opportunity to choose how you will think about it – with abundance or scarcity, love or fear. Wednesday night saw our final group call, a round-up of all we had learned. We were a tad philosophical; […]

It’s A Love Thang

I encourage my clients to love what they do and do only what they love. That doesn’t mean all the other stuff can’t or doesn’t get done, far from it. Since my new clients are largely ignoring most of those bits anyway, we look for ways to clear the clutter and get those bits handled either by paying for it to be done, or by swapping skills with someone who gobbles up that sort of stuff. A good way to work out which tasks should be on your To Do list and which on somebody else’s is to measure your energy; […]

Can You Create A Business Doing Only What You Love?

I am always very interested in my clients’ weekly check-in reports, specifically in what gets done and what remains undone, especially those tricky or challenging items which get stuck there, week after week. Last week in the UK was the 31st January tax return submission deadline. Every one of my clients who intended to get that done last week succeeded. Why? Easy! Because there was: A deadline and A penalty (£100 for non submission on time) A deadline is the single most useful thing for getting things done. A penalty is even better. So here’s my first thought for you. […]

I Am An Entrepreneur

I believe anything is possible. I see opportunity when others see impossibility. I take risks. I’m focused. I hustle. I know that nothing is unrealistic. I feel overwhelming love. I embrace my childlike wonder and curiosity. I take flying leaps into the unknown. I contribute to something bigger than myself. I create. I learn. I grow. I do. I believe it’s never too late to start living a dream. I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR. With thanks to The Flip Flop CEO.

Live Your Own Life: Love And Acceptance

I’ve noticed how much time and energy and love my well-meaning friends and colleagues and I put into thinking about other peoples’ lives. And I’ve decided to stop doing it. It isn’t that I don’t care, far from it. In fact the problem is caring too much and to an inappropriate degree. Here’s a list of the sorts of things I’ve noticed we say to each other when we get together: I wish she would just focus on one thing and make her life easier I wish he would drink less/eat more/get a cleaner/get a life I wonder why she […]

Testimonials: The Lovely Things Natasha Says

When your business is all about helping other people, the outpouring of energy can sometimes feel like it flows in one direction only – out. The bliss of coaching and mentoring is that the good vibrations flow back in too, in the form of heart-warming testimonials and a general sense of well being on the days one is able to be of service. One of my clients, Natasha, who thinks she is not a writer, sends me the most beautiful testimonials in emails. I’m sharing a selection here so you will see what fun she is and so she will […]
