Charlotte reminded me about Jelly which is a way in which home-based business owners can network and collaborate with ease. Jelly’s aim is “to bring home workers, freelancers, small business owners and entrepreneurs together in a relaxed, informal working environment to maximise creativity and minimise the isolation that being your own boss can bring.” I have been thinking about starting my own local networking group in 2014 and I could easily run a Jelly in my garden shed. I’m on it, in case you live in S.W. London, and I shall be publicising this shortly.
Diane shared that she had hooked up with some wonderful-sounding women called Pink Spaghetti PA Services who can provide all sorts of freelance support to solo business owners who have too much to do in too little time. They can also provide support for your domestic stuff too. They list social media, email newsletters, templates, databases and much much more in their list of business offerings and encourage us to pass across the important but not urgent stuff to them. I am a big fan of outsourcing and at £25 an hour, which is available from as little as 15 minutes at a time, I would encourage this sooner rather than later.
