Following on from yesterday’s post, I am bringing myself back up to speed slowly in this, my new “term”. And allowing myself and my clients plenty of time to think about what’s really important.
Today it is one of those beautiful sunny clear September days which makes even me, the most loath of all to take exercise, want to get out in the garden or go for a walk. The garden looks lovely and there’s talk amongst my clients of what’s really important to them – being with family in times of crisis, taking opportunities when they present themselves, doing stuff they love, being with people they love.
OK, the context of my work with clients is ostensibly money (or lack thereof) and business success (or lack thereof) but increasingly I am intuitively steering our conversations in the direction of what’s life all about, what’s important to you, what do you really want, how is it when you are in flow, when you close your eyes what do you see?
And whilst I may be a guide, my job to ask the provocative question, the client always knows. Even when they think they don’t, if they allow themselves some space… they always know. Deep down.
This work is a privilege. To be with clients while they work out what’s important and help and support them while they re-shape their lives to have that be at the centre, well I’m just a lucky sausage and that’s all there is to it.
Do you have the wisdom and courage to build your life around your own answer to this question: What’s Really Important? Oh gosh! I hope so. What would you do all day if money were no object? Do it now. Find a way to do it now. And every day.
